Hi Car, I've been trying to map recently, but I'm just not feeling whimsical right now...

I'm so glad you came. I am an expert in this topic!

The first thing is that you shouldn't really worry about how fun the gameplay is.
People will enjoy it regardless.
However, getting a playtester to take a look is always a great idea.

Another topic on gameplay, this time on difficulty.
It's so easy to fall into the trap of mapping at your comfort level.
Instead, try mapping easier gameplay! You'd be surprised how rewarding it is.

I normally care a lot about hi-res art, but its not for everyone.
It takes me an especially long time to draw portraits.
That's why I'm using an image for mine. Maybe pixel art would work well too!

I spent a lot of time making this level working on the pixel art, as you'll see in a bit...
But sometimes its nice to just... use what you already have.
(Or in this case, sketch it out in MSPaint)

Selecting music is a fun process, especially for whimsy!
Dark and dour music def has its place...
But you can't beat some fun vibes!
Tracklist: Lumi's Essence (OutCore), Clinch Mountain Backstep (Ultimate Pickin'), Monster (Prehistorik 2), Little Red Train (Rigel Theatre), and Chicken Attack (Aden Mayo)

Luckily, I've never delved into coding (yet),
But there's something to be said about pushing Celeste to its limits.
Luckily, I didn't have to consult #modding-help while working on this.

Uh. Anyway
Press up ten times at any time to skip to the end of the map.

Wavedash > Wallbounce isn't exactly breaking new ground.

SirSlimeSkedaddle_NailandBouncehelper=

This room features 5 different movement variants on the player.
Don't worry, let's start off easy!
Bouncehelper: Dash into walls and floors and jump away with big speed! (Also inverts hypers and supers)
Kelper Nail: My recommendation is to have this bound to an accessible button. Have an additional down bound to the same button, as this level will only require downward swings.

Throwing another hat into the ring! AQUA's grappling hook!
This can go straight up and straight to the sides. Use this as a tool to give yourself a break as well, if the room is feeling too hectic.

[RootBeer right rootbeer]
Next up is the Elytra! In my opinion, this should be bound to your normal grab bind, but whatever works for you.
Use the elytra to glide slowly. Remember you can't do some other inputs while gliding, and will have to stop to swing your nail.

[RootBeer right rootbeer]
I'm throwing in superdash just to be extra mean. Good luck!
(If you don't know how superdash works, you are able to curve your dash. Your dash length is now extended!)
