HEY THERE! Welcome to the TOTALLY RADICAL {~}Boombox Bayou{/~}!
This state-of-the-art stunt park uses experimental technology to give YOU an {~}EXPLOSIVE, ADRENALINE-PUMPING{/~} experience like NO OTHER!
Introducing... the radical {~}Throwable Boombox{/~}! Stand on top of it, and it'll warm up and BOOST YOU away from it! Crazy, right?
So if you're feeling brave, COME ON IN and feel the {~}power of the boombox{/~}!!
{# 8b8b8b}...{.5}there are several signs plastered over the billboard exclaiming various OSHA violations.{#}

swampy_xolimono_introB=
Hey now! To survive in Boombox Bayou, there's several rules ya gotta know!
{# 8b8b8b}...The rest of the sign is rusted off, and I reckon you don't want to keep reading dialogue of someone roleplaying as a 90s kid, so I'll explain these rules more straightforwardly.
1. Whenever you need to get on top of a boombox, you will need to get on top of it as fast as possible. Dash refills, reverse tech, and other setups will help you do this efficiently.
2. This map only uses tech that is expert and below; no backboosts or weird tech needed. Make sure to have a demo bind, because normal and reverse midair demohypers are used quite a bit.
No grounded ultras are used for the intended solutions; downright dash/demo spam without gultraing is intended.
3. The first room (as in, the next one) is effectively a tutorial for the sort of movement the rest of the map will be using. Make note of what it expects of you movement and routing-wise.
4. Keep in mind that throwable boom boxes are experimental technology. You may encounter some weird interactions, though these interactions are generally rare, and they {~}are{/~} avoidable.
5. From the pause menu, you can access room-specific hints. If you get stuck, I recommend checking these options out.
Lastly, the door to your right leads to a room which will let you practice with the boomboxes. If you want to get a better understanding of them before continuing on, check that out.
That's all - good luck out there!{#}

swampy_xolimono_wallbounce_tutorial=
{# 8b8b8b}You can wallbounce off of thrown boomboxes. Throw the boombox leftwards at the wall, then wallbounce off of it before it starts falling.

swampy_xolimono_stopping_tutorial=
{# 8b8b8b}Here you will need to stop your momentum by running into the boombox before grabbing and throwing it.
This "slamming your body into the boombox" tech will be used later for similar boombox throw setups.{#}

swampy_xolimono_regrab_tutorial=
Well well well, look whose made it this far! You must think you're an explosive stunt pro by now, but there's more to learn...
As it turns out, you can grab boomboxes as they blow up! We've used this tech to make a couple more exciting challenges for you!
{# 8b8b8b}When standing on top of a boombox, if you grab right as the box produces a boost, you can regrab it and bring it up in the air with you.
There are only a few frames of leniency to do this, but there is a visual tell: you can grab it right when the box's light turns yellow.{#}
Good luck out there! You're doin' fine!

swampy_xolimono_berryA=
WATCH OUT, DUDE! The boombox here has trigger spikes on the bottom!
This means you'll only be able to use it once... or else!
By the way, the {# 8b8b8b}grey blocks{#} won't respawn when they crumble, and jumping on them will make them disappear, so be careful with how you use them!

swampy_xolimono_berryB=
Hey hey hey! Awesome job making it this far!
We set this one off to the side cause it uses an experimental tech. Give it a go... if you dare!
{# 8b8b8b}This room requires you to grab boomboxes as you do ultras off of them.
If you do it right, you can quickly throw the boombox behind you, dash into it, and get a boost.
The refill on the first one will help make the regrab a bit more lenient.{#}

swampy_xolimono_hintA=
The boombox should land around the middle of the crumble block, above the refill.
Also remember: you need to get on top of boomboxes as soon as possible. You can do this here with an upleft dash from the touch switch, and a down dash onto the boombox.

swampy_xolimono_hintB=
At the end of this room, you will need to get a boost from the boombox {~}after{/~} hitting the second refill.

swampy_xolimono_hintC=
You only need to throw the boombox once, and get a boost from it once in this level.

swampy_xolimono_hintD=
This level will require an immediate downdash after a wallbounce.

swampy_xolimono_hintE=
This level will require you to regrab a falling boombox after getting a boost from another.
Also, for the second boombox, let your momentum stop before picking it up; this will set up the throw.
This sort of setup will be used in the screens after this, so remember it!

swampy_xolimono_hintF=
You will need to get a boost from the first boombox right as it falls into the water. Once you are on top of the block, a refill is placed to help you line up a downdash with the boombox.
Also, the main crumble block structure in this room will last a while, but still remember to be fast :)

swampy_xolimono_hintG=
The first half of this room focuses heavily on back-and-forth movement.

swampy_xolimono_hintH=
In the second half of the screen, the boombox should be thrown around the middle of the crumble block, above the refill. You can simply jump left onto the boombox after getting the touch switch.
You'll need to do a wallbounce off the boombox here, and throwing the boombox from too far to the right may make you miss the wallbounce.

swampy_xolimono_hintI=
After collecting the refill and grabbing the crumble wall, quickly dash downleft and downward onto the boombox, then do a regrab when it boosts you.

swampy_xolimono_hintJ=
Remember: you'll want to get on top of the boombox as quick as possible.
A single down dash is all you'll need here to do so.

swampy_xolimono_hintK=
This room requires being good at Celeste.
Jokes aside, this room does use some unique moves.
With the first boombox, you will not need get a boost from it, but you will need to neutral jump off the side of it in midair.
Also, after the second ultra in this room, you'll need to dash down onto the second boombox to position yourself for a regrab.

swampy_xolimono_hint_berryA=
For the downward bit with the 4 crumble blocks, you'll need to get to the bottom as fast as possible.
To do this, try jumping and dashing down in quick succession as the blocks break beneath you.

swampy_xolimono_hint_berryB=
If the boomboxes boost you downwards instead of off to the side, try dashing into them a bit later.

swampy_xolimono_end=
WOAH, look at that! You made it through! RADICAL!!
It couldn't have been easy, but we hope it was a BOOMTASTIC experience regardless!
Now go and BLOW UP that crystal heart! You totally deserve it!

swampy_xolimono_stupidsecret=
I just want it to be known that while I was working on deco for this room, I was on call with a friend who was, for God knows what reason, looking at Archive Of Our Own ship fanfiction for 1984.
Highlights included several ships of main characters, one with Cecil Palmer and Carlos from Welcome to Night Vale inserted in, and one with an Austin Powers self-insert for some reason??
Just wanted y'all to know that's what I associate this room with now.

swampy_xolimono_goldenroom=
Hi there!
First of all: I'm not sorry.
Second: this room uses another piece of tech I decided against using in the main map.
Basically, right as you land on the boombox, grab it, throw it left, and dash into the explosion.
You have a relatively safe environment to do this so I believe in you. Please don't choke. Good luck.
