Mr\. Chesterson's visit this week has only hardened our resolve.
As with last time he never {!}overtly{/!} mentioned the crystals but the hints were there. We all noticed.
On top of that, he mentioned he'd been running into some troubles on the management end, and that if we'd found anything strange or interesting then he would really want to know.
This has confirmed our suspicions, and we'll act on our plan.
Meanwhile, we have successfully created and entered a chamber inside another chamber.
As chambers already seem to present themselves as an abstraction of their surroundings, it may not be surprising that this nested abstraction left the newest chamber almost entirely featureless.
The effect is somewhat unsettling, but will be of use.{#}

We have a plan to continue studying the crystals, though it relies on Mr\. Chesterson being the only other with knowledge of them. Thankfully we are confident in this.
While the likelihood of anyone entering through the cave-in site in the western part of the mines is extremely small, that path has been blocked off for some time regardless.
Percy is concocting a method to raise the main elevator to its topmost position from below, and Hammond is documenting his idea for a practically inescapable chamber.
We will need others to review it, though; Hammond's cleverness is matched only by his forgetfulness, and there may be a simple exit he did not notice.{#}

Study of these crystals' properties continues. Perhaps the most curious result so far is the continued presence of one or more large mirrors.
To date we have found no way to be rid of their presence, and have settled on the explination that they somehow stabilize the chamber in some way.
Hammond has suggested use of these mirrors to conceal a means of exit to the trap being developed, in case one of our own becomes ensnared, however decided against it.
Should such a method be included, it would need to be much more well-hidden.{#}
