ES2023_Daorex_Welcome=
Welcome, {+MADELINE}, to the Xelodar Station.
Station Origin: Uelidar, 1294
Station Location: Xelodar, 2-01
Objective: Monitoring the Twin of Symmeta, also known as the host of {# 597874}Tournium{#}.
Refer to the above hologram to receive instructions in order to proceed out of the transport room.

ES2023_Daorex_Upcancels=
In order to cross the gap to the right, you must perform a move called an "Upcancel" by our marketing team.
To set up the move, grab the HDB (Holdable Doom Box) below.
Next, jump and land on the spring.
Throw the HDB during the freeze frames granted by the spring while holding right.
This will clip you to the side of the block while it's moving.
Jump and grab the HDB at almost the same time, in the stated order, and you'll land on the platform with the HDB.

ES2023_Daorex_Cornergrabs=
A large gap with no spring?
No problem!
Use your trusty HDB to perform a "Cornergrab"!
First, ensure that your subpixel is in the half of the pixel that you are desiring to perform an upcancel in.
Be forewarned, Cornergrabs are significantly more inconsistent when performed to the left.
This subpixel is easy to set up by running into the HDB from the side that you want to perform a Cornergrab in.
For example, run into the left side of the HDB in order to perform a Cornergrab to the right.
Now for the actual execution of a Cornergrab!
Throw the block and immediately jump and hold grab.
You should cornercorrect to the side of the block while it is moving!
Wow!
You've just performed a move fundamental to HDB movement!

ES2023_Daorex_Cornergrab_Jump=
Wow, this gap is even larger!
But not to worry.
Remember that move you just learned called a "Cornergrab"?
You can actually climbjump while on the side of the block to get a ton of liftboost and rocket through the air!
This move allows you to grab the block after climbjumping because a climbjump forces the player to stop grabbing the wall.
Because you aren't grabbing the wall, you can grab the block!
Awesome!

ES2023_Daorex_Future_Reference=
A significant number of the moves utilized in this map are not tutorialized to the player and are instead small puzzles to figure out!
One important thing to note about these puzzles is that when presented with a large gap, the solution is typically to find some way to be on the block as it is moving.
This way you can jump and gain liftboost speed.
A good example of a trickier move to figure out can be found to the left.
If you need a hint for this one, use the Hologram to the right.

ES2023_Daorex_Hint_One=
This is a cornergrab wallboost!
Perform a cornergrab, then climbjump while holding no directions and let go of grab during the freeze frames provided by the crystal.
At the right time, hold left.
You should fly right onto the left exposed girder of the entrance to the next room!

ES2023_Daorex_Ceiling_Abuse=
This gap is too far to cross with a Cornergrab Jump!
Luckily, there's still a way across!
By throwing the block while it is overlapping tiles, it will clip out of the tiles and overlap the player.
This gives you Coyote Time, allowing you to jump and regrab the block.
When performed at the right time, you can go pretty far!

ES2023_Daorex_Screen_Abuse=
It's time to learn how to ABUSE A SCREEN BORDER!
By that, I mean it's time to learn how to perform a cornergrab on the screen border!
All you have to do is let go of grab and repress grab while holding the direction you want to cornergrab in!
Press jump immediately afterward to perform a cornergrab jump.
Now, you may have noticed that you haven't made it to the other side of the screen yet.
After performing the cornergrab jump, you need to throw the HDB while above the screen border.
Once you land on top of it, jump and then grab instantly in order to gain even more speed and cross the gap!

Captain's Log 57
No new discoveries today or activity from the entity.
Planet seems calm.
Station is in good condition, crews are happy, and yesterday's food shipment has been treating us all very nicely.
Still annoyed that they forgot to send any form of entertainment with it, but otherwise I'm good too.
Nothing to report.

ES2023_Daorex_Log_2=
Captain's Log 58
We had a breakthrough!
From sample tissue recovered on the planet we found trace amounts of {# 597874}Tournium{#}.
I've theorized that Daorex must've found a way to tunnel through to the planet's core in order to find it, but how did she know it was there?
Someone would've had to have told her.
Anyway, it would seem that the material is the basis of her abilities.
Knowing that something so horrible is behind this destruction leaves me little hope for the continued containment of Daorex on Xelodar.
It leaves me feeling like the only reason why she's stayed on the planet so long is by choice.
All I can hope for is that the barrier holds.
Also, the mainland forgot to send us a fuel shipment, so we're taking from the backup storage and then likely from the emergency shuttles until we're resupplied.

ES2023_Daorex_Log_3=
Captain's Log 59
Daorex has been extremely active recently.
A large percentage of the planet looks to have been terraformed overnight.
Not terraformed in the sense of becoming more habitable, though.
Terraformed in the sense that all organic beings in the affected regions have been mashed together and spread like butter on toast across the region.
We've hypothesized that this is to allow Daorex the ability to have sapient material to work with no matter where she travels across the affected region.
Whether she'll continue this course of action for the entire planet is unknown.

ES2023_Daorex_Log_4=
Captain's Log 62
I fear for the safety of the station.
The arrival of Tyrin has changed everything.
Tyrin's ability to create structured directional wormholes has been wreaking havoc on the station.
He can cut through any material, at least any material we have on board, and leave not only a cut but a hole where his knife was.
Our detection shielding appears to have been entirely ineffectual, because as soon as we detected Tyrin, we found him coming towards the station.
We've set up multiple evacuation shuttles and we're desperately trying to launch them despite the lack of fuel.
There's barely a drop left anywhere onboard.
I suspect this will be my last log, and if these records somehow survive, I must express to whomever is reading that they must locate Daorex.
Our tracking equipment lost sight of her the moment Tyrin appeared.
I can hear faint shredding noises already as the atrocity works his way up the station.
I would wonder why he is doing this to us, but I doubt that the intentions of atrocities like Tyrin and Daorex will ever be fully understood.
My crew needs my assistance with the emergency shuttles.
Goodbye.
